Belgrave St. Peter's Missional Community

Belgrave St Peter’s Missional Community

Is a new church which serves the people of Abbey Rise and parts of Latimer. It is part of the Anglican Parish of the Resurrection and the Diocese of Leicester, our minister is the Revd Simon Stevens.

The Missional Community grows out of the 2020 Diocesan Vision to see Fresh Expressions and new ways of being church across Leicester and Leicestershire. It is called a missional community rather than a church because it does not meet in a church building, instead it is based in Belgrave St Peter’s C of E school from which it takes its name.

At the moment the Church meets on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Although we are a Church of England community we do like to do things differently. Firstly we want to be a church that is very child friendly. Children are central in our community, since we are based in a school, and so they take part in all our services. We try to be all age, which means that we don’t mind noise and we don’t mind mess. We like everyone to feel relaxed and welcome whenever we meet. We also meet  socially and we try to contribute to our local community and of course, our school.

We also try to have services that are a bit more lively than other churches. We talk less about what we think and instead listen to others, to find out what they believe.

We really want to explore together with other believers and non believers what it means to connect with God and follow Jesus in the 21st century.

So everyone is welcome, especially families of all kinds we meet at 3pm
