Cross Country /Running club

 From September on a Wednesday between 12.30-1.00 a similar club is to be started for KS1.

 

The session:

 

We usually start the session with a warm up of the cross country course.  We then do a timed run usually 10-15min encouraging the children to work together.  Over the weeks the amount of laps completed has risen by all the children attending.  A game based running exercise is used to encourage the children to continue to run without getting bored.  Generally we try to have a talk with the children in ways we can improve their performance such as starting off slower or as previously mentioned working together.
