Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Santa fun Run

From Leicestershire to Lapland: Belgrave St Peter's C of E Primary School takes on epic Christmas challenge to raise money for Rainbows.

Belgrave St Peter’s C of E Primary school, along with many other schools in Rise Multi Academy Trust, will be taking part in one of the region’s biggest collective Santa Fun Runs as they aim to run the distance from Leicestershire to Lapland to raise money for Rainbows.

Collectively it is hoped that over 1400 pupils and hundreds of staff, will run over 2200 miles around sports fields, school halls and play areas to cumulatively run the distance it would take to reach Santa in Lapland!

Interim Executive Headteacher of Belgrave, Mrs Dolby-Molson said “We are really looking forward to putting on our trainers and Santa hats to raise money for an incredible cause.

“Aiming for Lapland is just adding an extra layer of excitement and it is encouraging every child to do an extra lap or a few extra steps to help us reach our target – both in terms of distance and the money raised. It will be a wonderful day to see all of the pupils from other schools coming together and participating in such a fantastic event!”

Mark Cole, CEO of the Rise MAT, said: “Being a part of Rise MAT means having a commitment to the community and helping our children realise what we can all achieve if you work together.

“We want to provide our schools with the opportunity to work in collaboration with each other, and what better way to do so than with a fun filled Christmas themed fun run raising awareness and vital funds for an amazing charity!”

Pupils and staff from the school will be completing their Santa Fun Run on Thursday 1st December.
