Stray Dog Incident

Dear Parents/Carers,

I write to allay any fears or concerns following an incident this morning with a stray dog.

The dog, obviously intrigued by the new surroundings and large audience, chose to come in to the playground at the same time as parents and children were arriving for the start of the day. Whilst there was some initial panic, staff secured the playground and no-one was injured.

Unfortunately, having been encouraged to leave the playground, the dog ran out in to the road where it was struck by a passing vehicle. The driver stopped, and a parent followed and safely retrieved the dog, who appears to be okay.

The driver, although shaken, was unharmed and the incident has been reported to the police.

Huge thanks to those parents/carers and staff members who helped out this morning in any way.
