Belgrave St. Peter's is a friendly and attractive multicultural city primary school with great potential. We are a church school, developing close links with the Diocese of Leicester, and have an ethos steeped in Christian Values. Children typically enter the nursery well below the national average, but increasingly they are leaving the school close to, at, or even exceeding national. An achievement of which we are extremely proud.
Following a period of some considerable turbulence, I joined the school as Acting Headteacher in January 2014, and took up the substantive position in April 2014. I then began an exciting round of recruitment and now have a great team, including a Deputy Head/SENCo/Inclusion Manager and a new and invigorated Senior Leadership Team.
Despite a 'Requires Improvement' judgement in March 2014, only 4 weeks in to my relationship with the school, we are extremely proud to have achieved our 'Good' rating in June 2016. We are now set firmly on an upward trajectory and have recruited and developed our staff to accompany us on this exciting journey. There may still be challenges ahead, but we feel very positive about the future of the school and its drive not only to be 'Good' but to become truly 'Outstanding' and deliver excellence for all of our pupils.
