Belgrave Loves to Read!
At Belgrave St Peter's we are encouraging all of our children to read on a daily basis. Not only do we want our children to read, we want them to have a passion for reading!
Each child has been given their new 'Reading Record' and we are encouraging all children to read to an adult, at home for approximately 15 minutes a day. If you could then sign the record and write any necessary comments. The comments will help us to see the progression they are making along with any difficulties we can help them with. Writing comments will also allow you, as parents and carers to understand the skills your child has as a reader.
Children are to keep their Reading Records in their school bags on a daily basis, so we can access them. As a school we have spoken about the different genres (fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, comics) that children can read.
We are looking forward to encouraging all children to read for pleasure and with your support at home, we are positive that we can integrate this within our school.
