Welcome to Year 4!
Welcome to Year 4 with your teacher Miss Hughes and our teaching assistant Mrs Kaur.
In Year 4 we love new challenges and always strive to do our best. We are working hard to be great listeners and independent learners. We have a strong class bond and work together to achieve our goals. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting year of learning!
Please sign up for free to class dojo. In Year 4 we love using Class Dojo to earn points and practice mindfulness. You will be able to view your child's dojo points for the week and message Miss Hughes whenever you need to. Pictures of our learning will be posted on the Class Story and any home learning due to COVID-19 will be communicated through Class Dojo.
Reading at Home
Reading is very important and is essential to your child's learning. Reading with your child is essential and is expected at least 3 times a week for 10 minutes each time. You can record this in your child's reading record. In class we have a chart, were it is monitored how often children are reading at home. Reading will be monitored every week and the top two readers in the class will receive a reward for their hard work.
In Year 4, our times tables are very important because in the Summer term we will be tested along with every other Year 4 student in the country. Your child has been given a log in for Times Table Rockstars. This is a great website for your child to learn their times tables. We will be having weekly competitions so please make sure your child practices as much as possible!
Year 4's PE day is a Monday afternoon. Please make sure your child comes dressed in an appropriate PE kit.
