Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Welcome to Year 4 with your teacher Mrs Alihodzic.

In Year 4 we love new challenges and always strive to do our best. We are working hard to be great listeners and independent learners. We have a strong class bond and work together to achieve our goals. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting year of learning!

Class Dojo

Please sign up for free to class dojo. In Year 4 we love using Class Dojo to earn points and practice mindfulness. You will be able to view your child's dojo points for the week and message Miss Hughes whenever you need to. Pictures of our learning will be posted on the Class Story and any home learning due to COVID-19 will be communicated through Class Dojo.

Reading at Home

Reading is very important and is essential to your child's learning. Reading with your child is essential and is expected at least 5 times a week for 15 minutes each time. Reading must be recorded in your child's reading record. In class we have a reading chart, where it is monitored how often children are reading at home.

Times Tables

In Year  4, our times tables are very important because in the Summer term we will be tested along with every other Year 4 student in the country. Your child has been given a log in for Times Table Rockstars. This is a great website for your child to learn their times tables. We will be having weekly competitions so please make sure your child practises as much as possible!

Year 4's PE day is a Monday afternoon. Please make sure your child comes dressed in an appropriate PE kit.

Kit list:

White polo shirt

Blue/black shorts

Plimsolls (indoor)

Trainers (outdoor)

Jogging top and bottoms (for colder weather)
