Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Belgrave St Peter’s CofE Primary School Takes Part in LCH Charity Colour Dash

Pupils and staff at Belgrave St Peter’s CofE Primary School recently took part in the LCH Charity Lifting Children’s Hopes School Colour Dash, a vibrant fundraising event that brings together schools from across the East Midlands to support children facing hardship.

The annual Colour Dash raises vital funds for LCH Charity, enabling the organisation to continue delivering its seven programmes that support disadvantaged children and young people throughout the region. Schools that sign up to the event also gain access to free support for their pupils through all seven of the charity’s programmes.

The Colour Dash is a fun-filled sponsored event where children run or walk around a track while being showered with colourful powder paint by teachers. Held during the final hour of the school day, the event provides an exciting opportunity for schools to come together, have fun and make a difference to the lives of others.

LCH Charity was originally founded in 1898 and has evolved over the years to meet the changing needs of disadvantaged children across the East Midlands. The charity is perhaps best known for its long-standing connection to providing holidays and short breaks for children, earning it the affectionate title of the “Mablethorpe Charity” among generations of families.

Belgrave St Peter’s pupils and staff had a fantastic time taking part in the Colour Dash, with enthusiasm and excitement shining through every participant. The school grounds were transformed into a spectacular display of colour as children embraced the challenge and enjoyed supporting such a worthwhile cause.

Collectively, schools taking part in this year’s Colour Dash have raised an impressive £75,697 so far, helping LCH Charity continue its mission of bridging the gap between those who have and those who have not.

Headteacher, Courtney Ouriach, said:

"We are incredibly proud of our pupils and staff for their enthusiastic participation in the LCH Charity Colour Dash. It was wonderful to see everyone come together, have so much fun and support a charity that makes such a positive difference to the lives of children across the East Midlands. The energy, excitement and community spirit on display throughout the event were truly inspiring."
